We came in for an oil change and tire rotation, our appointment was at 9am, and we were going to wait for our vehicle.
About 45 minutes later my wife received the walk around video in a text message, which she couldn't open due to her phone not being able to do that.
Around 10am the service advisor came over and told us that the car would need new tires. It was implied that if we didn't make a decision right away, we would have to wait longer for service.
The service advisor didn't offer to show us the video after we told him we couldn't open it. He did explain what was needed, but we never saw that video.
So after making the decision to go ahead and get the new tires we were told it might take quite a while to get the tires installed, because another customer was put in ahead of us, so we had to use your shuttle service to get my wife to her doctor's appointment.
Then we were then told there would be a longer delay in finishing because the service advisor had to find out about the credit, which we had told him about at the beginning.
Our car was at the dealership from 9am until 130pm.
The only good thing was that you had a shuttle service, so my wife was able to get to her doctor appointment on time.
Here are some suggestions to improve things:
The time to do an oil change is way too long! 2-3 hours is not very good.
Make sure your customers know they are getting the walk around video, and promptly follow up with them especially when they are in the waiting room. Everyone doesn't have the capability to watch these videos and many of us still like to have a person explain the situation.
Allow a little time for customers to make a decision on car repairs especially when it involves a high cost. Give them 15-30 minutes to decide, don't jump to the next customer 2 minutes after you just told us what was needed.
