They charged me way over the estimate. The cost before tax was supposed to be $530. It ended up being $590 with tax. This is not acceptable. Also, they never warned me that the driving service stops at 3 pm on the weekends. I called for a ride at 3:10 and they told me the service had ended. Would have been nice to know.

I took my car into Oakland Honda for an oil change at 9:30am on Friday. I was told by representative Carlos, that the change would be completed around 1 to 2pm and I would receive a call around that stated time. However, I never received any calls from Carlos nor any text messages. At around 3:30 I tried calling the direct phone number to Carlos [****-****-xxxx]. The problem was the number was not a number not in use. I proceeded to call the main line to the service department and was told that Carlos was busy and that message would be left for him. The service provider gave the correct number to Carlos during that call. Almost an hour had passed and I called the correct number to Carlos at 4:21pm. Carlos would then tell me that my car would be ready in 20 minutes. He asked if I need the shuttle service and I said yes along with providing an address in Alameda to pick me up at. Carlos would then say the shuttle service make a call to me when they arrive. Half an hour after the I received a text message that my car was ready for pickup. I was still waiting for a shuttle service to call so I tried calling Carlos at 5:06pm and 5:12pm but received no response. I called the service department again and was told that service representative Carlos has already gotten off work and the shuttle service has already stopped their pickup service in Alameda at 3 to 3:30pm. I would then proceed to call my friend to pick me up and take me to Honda Oakland to pick up my car. At 5:24pm I would receive a call from representative Hong, notifying me that the store was closing soon and if I could not make it I will be put on a list for the next day. I would tell Hong what has been happening throughout the day in regards to the service. My friend would arrive to pick me up and headed to Honda Oakland, barley arriving before the closing time to pick up my car. Representative Carlos has provided a very poor service. He did not communicate at all to me and gave me a wrong contact number. Along with not notifying me about the service times of the shuttle.

The shop manager had an emergency and apparently nobody else could answer the phone or manage talking to me. My car was promised to be ready two days before it actually was, which I understand happens. But there was absolutely no communication about it to me, despite numerous phone calls.

Fantastic service. Helpful and met timeline explained. The shop in general has very long wait times which could be improved, especially for those that make appointments for simple regular maintenance.
