The service itself was fine. I am disappointed that there was a hidden cost not disclosed to me. It was explained to me when I dropped off the car that the evaluation of my brakes would cost $75. Dalton and I discussed this a bit, and I completely understand why this fee is charged. However, upon paying my bill, there was an additional $12 for “shop supplies”. It was then explained to me that this is to cover such things as gloves used by the technician. I would have been entirely content if Dalton had said the evaluation would cost $87. It seems misleading and disingenuous instead to have failed to inform me of the incidental additional expense. This practice has me wondering if the $550 quoted to me for my brake replacement work will really cost me just $550. I am not aware of Toyota South charging such hidden costs in the past.

I have never been there before and it took 3 1/2 hours for service. And I didn’t even have an oil change, just inspection and alignment. Charlotte was great! I just have never sat for that long waiting on my van to be serviced.

To begin, my wife and I have purchased six vehicles from the Gates dealerships over the years and three from Toyota South. I have also referred several of my friends to the Gates dealerships over the years and and have another one of our family looking to purchase a new Toyota in the very near future. I purchased this vehicle from Fox Toyota in Clinton, TN after checking with the Gates dealerships for availability. When I purchased this Tundra, I purchased a Toyota Platinum Extended Warranty. 5/60k. Within a few days after purchase, the truck cruise control / collision avoidance / lane departure system malfunctioned and became inoperative. I drove the hour drive from my Home in Harrodsburg and took the vehicle to Toyota South Service department and presented it along with my copy of my Toyota Platinum Extended Warranty. The Service Advisor, Matt Hinds refused to honor the warranty, even after looking at the warranty contract. I was sent away without any satisfaction with the problem and told to return later because the vehicle wasn’t showing up in the system. A man who identified himself as the Service Manager agreed with Matt and also refused to honor my warranty. I am very disappointed with the attitude of you staff and fact that I had to make two one-hour trips to your Service Department to get the repairs done on my Toyota Tundra. In my opinion, this was a very inappropriate way to treat one of your loyal customers. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this issue further, if you are interested. Thank you for hearing my concerns.
