There are a couple of issues we wanted to address during the visit.
First, the 5th door does not always open—neither via the key fob nor the button on the door. This issue was reproduced once during the visit; however, after that instance, the door started functioning normally. Since the issue is intermittent, we’ve provided a video recorded a few days earlier showing the door failing to open despite multiple attempts.
This is not caused by the safety feature (which we are aware of). In the video, you can see the door attempting to move—it shakes slightly—but fails to release and open properly.
Second, there is also a problem with the soft-close mechanism on the 5th door. It doesn’t activate consistently; at times, the door simply slams shut without engaging the soft-close function.
This issue was reproducible during the visit. They even brought a brand new car for comparison and observed that the soft-close mechanism was consistently activated on the new car, while it was not on ours.
Neither of these two issues were resolved.
The explanation given was that the soft-close feature is not required to activate every time—which we believe is incorrect—and that they were unable to reproduce the door not opening.
As a result, we are left to deal with these problems on our own: a door that doesn’t open reliably, and a soft-close mechanism that only works about half the time.
