This was our first experience with the service department and we left disappointed. At the time of drop-off I made the service advisor aware of an issue with the floor mats. Our vehicle came equipped with OE rubber floor mats. After one week of use, the rear floor mat on the passenger side had curled up, and our kids now trip on it when entering the vehicle. I reported it to the service advisor and he suggested that they may be able to warranty it, but that he wasn’t sure if he had time for a technician to check it out.
When we picked up the vehicle, I inquired with the advisor about the floor mats and he said “I’m sorry, we didn’t have time. You’ll have to come back for that.” It was 11am, and we were fully prepared to leave the vehicle for the full day if needed. What upset me was that it was never even written up on the estimate, so the advisor had ZERO intention of having a technician evaluate it for us. This was not an electrical component and required no diagnosis time. I believe that most dealers would have quickly replaced that portion of the mat and taken advantage of the opportunity to earn a customer.
This is a $70,000 vehicle that my kids now trip when entering. Although rubber floor mats may seem trivial to the advisor, they were very important to us and to have him completely ignore that was hugely disappointing. As with many family vehicles, they require a ton of planning in order to get them serviced. The idea of us now having to make a second trip is incredibly inconvenient, being that we do not live down the street from the dealership.
When buying this vehicle, we had made a decision to no longer have our vehicles serviced by aftermarket garages, because we desired the knowledge and service of an OE dealer. This feel very short of those expectations.
