I was at Westside Toyota since my RAV 4 was recalled for battery issues. I scheduled an oil change and tire rotation since I received coupons for these services.I was welcomed by a wonderful young man in the garage that indicated a service advisor would be right with me. A few minutes later he indicated someone was going to find my service person. When Aaron arrived he indicated to me besides the services I’d requested he’d advise... because of all the potholes during this past winter I my as well get a wheel alignment because I had the coupon and probably need it. I told Aaron I don’t drive much to hit many potholes this past winter. When Aaron came to see me about my service report he came out with a more than $1,700 estimate because to provide a wheel alignment and make repairs...I told Aaron I’d not be having that service done at Westside Toyota today. My thought was...I’m not a customer to be taken advantage of. I’ll ask my mechanic first for verification. Aaron said okay. Your car will be coming up soon. When my car came up and I had even spent time purchasing a car pen Aaron was nowhere to be found. I asked a young woman at the front desk if she could follow through with checking me out. She asked if anyone knew where Aaron was and they didn’t know where he was. So she did what I asked. When she was following up on my paperwork she asked if I was aware of the wheel alignment results. I told her yes. I asked her what I wasn’t told by Aaron—Is this something that needs to be immediately taken care of? She indicated — No, your tires are in good shape but if you start to have wear...I thank her for her honesty and giving me the facts and what I needed to know. Aaron came back and appeared irritated that this young woman was helping me out—as I requested. She advised Aaron that I asked her to assist me since he was not out front and no one knew where he was — that was why she was checking me out for him. Aaron overheard our conversation as I repeated what she said to me and included him in the conversation. He continued looking at his terminal and said to me...No, you don’t need to get this taken care of right away. You never drive and your tires are in good shape. I could have said to him. Yes, I know my tires are in good shape. My husband and I checked them out before I came here. Why didn’t you make that remark when you were giving me the wheel alignment report and tell me this service wasn’t needed immediately because “you never drive anyway.” I find this “get a wheel alignment because of all the potholes this past winter that you may have hit” very deceptive. I wondered when I walked out if your service advisors are on commission due to Aaron’s reaction when the young woman was assisting me and she practically had to defend assisting me. I wish I had noticed her name. She was at the first desk. I appreciate her providing me an informed and knowledgeable explanation on my wheel alignment services needed and assisting me with getting on to my next appointment. I have previously been serviced at Westside Toyota after my maintenance agreement was through. The previous experiences have always been positive. The Wheel Aliignment necessary after hitting potholes...and hearing Aaron’s last remark ...”I knew you weren’t going to get it anyway.”—this did not sit well with me. It really has me thinking maybe I should not be getting my work done at this dealership anymore. Thank you for your follow through and previous service.

Everyone was pleasant and only the things that I wanted done were efficiently taken care of with no pressure to things that didn’t need done on an extremely low mileage car. There is a comfortable waiting room with good coffee.

Nothing against Sam. She was great. I find it ridiculous that the department wanted to charge me $955 for a repair that I can do my self for $10 worth of double sided tape. Again, I want to stress I was treated kindly and professionally. I have no gripes with any employees. It's the policy that I find to be ridiculous.

Being told a a Prius at 205,000 miles is just going to have a rattling engine is not a solution to the problem. Carbon build up was causing the engine to rattle. An independent mechanic had it taken care of in less than a day. These cars - when properly maintained - can easily hit 250,000+. To act as if a rattling engine at 200k is par for the course and that there's nothing can be done about it is ridiculous.
