I had an appt for a drop off at 11:15 am on 2/19 for a tire patch. Tow truck driver confirmed drop off at 9am. I received an automated text that my car was checked in at 1:47pm. Then I heard nothing. I left a message with Kelsey my technician from the check-in video at 3ish. No response. I left another message at 5:30pm wondering why no one was contacting me or telling me they would keep my car overnight. Then I got a call at 7am on 2/20 saying my car was ready. I did appreciate the apology that there was a mix up but this is the second time I have had terrible service in a few months. It makes me regret being a repeat buying from Suntrup Kia.

I bought three cars from Suntrup Kia South from 2009 to 2021. After what has happened with my most recent purchase, I will never give them another dime. Two days ago, my 2018 certified pre-owned Sportage had an appointment to diagnose the check light. They told me even with the appointment it would be 24-48 hours to get a diagnosis. 24 hours after appointment I received a text to apply for financing and then an estimate for $7k. The code that was coming up was P04200 which the technician said is likely the catalytic converter so he was recommended replacement at $5,500. Also my spark plugs were fairly new but had some buildup so he recommended a $700 engine cleaning… the thing is Suntrup did an engine cleaning 16 months earlier then my spark plugs were “prematurely worn” due to excessive oil consumption which Kia said was “not their problem.” I had done all the maintenance at this dealership on time and at this point this 2018 only had 60k miles. However, back in 2021 when I bought this car, Kia was already in a settlement for these Theta II engines. They refused to do anything. I continued monitoring the oil levels. A month ago it went in for a routine oil change and they performed the recall sc340 related to updating the ECM. Now a month later, the engine light is on and they recommending a $5500 replacement and another engine cleaning plus to add insult to injury suggested I replace my brakes, air filter, and cabin air filter when the car was there a month ago. At 11 am I told them I wanted a call from a manager. At 5 pm I got a response saying the system was glitching and a manager would call me in the morning. Here we are at 2 pm and I have heard nothing. They don’t value my business and I also like they are trying to rip me off which is beyond upsetting considering I brought my business to them for several purchases. I’m still paying on this vehicle. And all this after the whole theft issue with my 2015 Sorento. I will never do business with Kia or Suntrup ever again.
UPDATE: went to pickup my car. They didn’t know where the paperwork was and they took ten minutes to find my car and bring it around after they told me it was already out front. I get in and they left the filter sitting in my passenger seat. The service advisor was Grace.
