First and foremost, the issue I am having with the vehicle was not resolved. I also waited at least 30 minutes in my vehicle before anyone began to check me in. I find that unacceptable when having an appointment time. I also waited an unacceptable amount of time at pick up. I feel like my complaint on the vehicle I brought in for diagnosis was not taken seriously.

When we purchased the car it had a Engine Maintenance message on. It went off and came back. I pulled codes and printed out the information and sent it with the car when my wife took it in the first time. They reset the code and sent her away. It came back and guess what. It was the same issue that I pulled the code on the first time. I have several other issues but I don’t have time to type it all

I want to let you know about an absolutely horrible experience I have had with the service department at Kia South County on Lindbergh. They have turned an absolutely terrible experience into an utter nightmare. On 2/18/26 my car, a Kia Forte, was broken into and vandalized. I called the police and filed a claim with the insurance company. My car was not drivable, so I had it towed to a Kia dealership as I felt that the level of expertise would be the best place to get my car repaired. It’s where the car was purchased. My insurance company came out on 2/19, I got an estimate for $2700 and received a check for $1700 (minus my deductible) on 2/21. After not hearing from Kia for a few days and after leaving several messages I finally got a voicemail on 2/25 stating that they had just ran diagnostics, it was a lot of damage, and they emailed a video and estimate and it was approx $2250 and he was going to try and get insurance to pay. I have the voicemail. He had all parts in stock except the window. I never received an email with an estimate or video. Not sure where that went. For several more days we left messages asking for a status update. Finally on 3/6 Jed called and left a voicemail and said the last part came in and we’d have it early this week. On 3/9 we speak with Jed who says Wednesday is best he can do. Today, 3/11 we do get a call saying it’s done. Upon arrival, I was completely shocked to be presented with a bill for $4594! I asked who was notified of this total and who authorized these repairs and Jed could not answer. Because NO ONE did! Never did we get an estimate, phone call, nothing telling us it was $4594. Then proceeds to tell me I don’t get my car until it’s paid. I showed him the insurance estimate and all he does is show me the receipt with the $4594 total. These charges were never authorized, I never received an estimate for insurance, nothing. I had no choice but to pay it. No apologies, nothing. I’d like to understand how he performed that kind of repair work with no approval or estimate given. AFTER leaving the dealership, Ryan Kertz had a voicemail saying sorry the car isn’t done, they didn’t run checks, and it would be tomorrow. However they allowed me to pick it up and never indicated any such voicemail, so now I’m worried it really isn’t repaired but I was forced to pay $4594 to get it. Also the car was absolutely filthy. Outside and inside. My car had been vandalized and the inside was covered in mud and dirt and the outside looked like it had been outside for weeks… which it was. Now I have to fight the insurance who is telling me the difference may not be reimbursed because no estimate was given BEFORE the repairs were done. Isn’t that something Kia should know??? I’m so upset, this whole experience has been awful. We are long time Kia customers, I have a Kia, my daughter does, all bought from Suntrup Kia south, but never again! I would like to understand how it’s OK to operate this way?

Just a little nuisance: the cap for the negative conductor of the battery was not installed and was placed on the bottom of the windshield. Luckily it didn’t blow away on the highway and it was easy to put in place. Also the new battery is not an OEM battery I suppose, it seems smaller as the plastic cover around it is kind of loose .
