I came in today for service on my 2020 Prius Prime after dealing with a recurring 12V battery issue. Ray was my service advisor and I have mixed feedback. On the positive side, Ray was clear and upfront about the diagnostic process. He explained that a parasitic draw test would be a $225 diagnostic charge separate from regular service, and walked me through the logical sequence: start with the battery load test included in the minor service, then escalate to the draw test if the battery itself checked out. That’s a reasonable approach and I appreciated him not pushing the more expensive diagnostic before ruling out the simpler explanation. The battery testing process itself was thorough — they recharged it on their Toyota charger and retested, which is exactly what should be done. The result came back clearly: state of health low, battery failing. I left with a printed test result that I can use for a warranty claim with the original installer. My one significant criticism: at no point during the visit was I told about any of the current service specials. I only learned about them by searching the South Coast Toyota website on my own while waiting. As it turned out, the Minor Service I was already getting had a discounted special listed online, and there were multiple other relevant promotions (synthetic oil change discount, fluid specials, even a $15 Uber voucher for customers waiting on service). None of these were mentioned. A customer paying for service shouldn’t have to hunt down the dealership’s own published discounts — these should be offered proactively, especially to repeat customers. Overall, the diagnostic work was solid and I trust the results. But the lack of transparency around current promotions left a sour note on what was otherwise a competent visit. Easy fix going forward — just tell customers what’s available.

The tire rotation was not done ? No one tells me this picking up car when I PAID FOR THE ALIGNMENT? I saw off the paperwork. MY TIRES ARE A YEAR AND TWO MONTHS OLD ? Paperwork SAYS NO Rotation DUE TO Tread DEPT ? Now I must go get them rotated at Walmart ? NOT HAPPY!
