After the initial service, my car's alignment was completely off. Service advisor Carlos suggested I could drive home and bring the car back again the next day. This worries me, but I trusted him only to get back in the car and have every malfunction in the computer system begin beeping at me. It seemed like something was not programmed properly, but nonetheless felt unsafe and unfair that after leaving my car in he hands of Santa Barbara Honda all day, I was now left with a car much more messed up than how I brought it in. Once again, I turned around from Kellogg street back into the dealership. Another employee came to see what the issue was, which he explained as something that should have been taken care of before the car was released to me. Still, not once did I receive apologies or sympathy from any of the employees. I did not feel comfortable or as if I was being taken care of, especially as a new customer on my first service visit with a brand new Honda! This time, I told the employee who was assisting me that I needed a rental car to take home for the night. I could not drive my vehicle safely, thanks to the careless "service" done on my car. He quickly procured me the "only vehicle he could find," a Honda Fit that seemed like it would be fine for me. I thanked him and he assured me I could grab my car in the morning. Instead of driving back early before work (I live and work in downtown SB, so Goleta is Ann extra 15 mins each way in rush hour traffic), i figured I would call to check in. Carlos mentioned the car would take a couple more hours. That would not work for me as I had to be at work by 9:45am.. He let me know that someone could stay for me to pick up the car after 6pm when I'm off work, or someone could bring my car to me if he had enough staff. I've worked in customer service for many years and trust me, i would have made it clear to my own customer that I was dedicated to trying to fix the situation. the inconvenience of having my car messed up and taking nearly 2 days when all it really needed was It's first normal service is not a good way to start off a customer service relationship and keep a customer. Now, after feeling like no one at Santa Barbara Honda was remotely concerned about the situation they had put me in, I started getting "service update" text messages addressed to a completely different person!!!! Way to make me feel that customer care... Ha. It didn't even make sense, because I continued to receive phone correspondence at the same phone number that I was receiving someone else's text message updates for. I left a message letting Carlos know about this, and this issue was ignored and continued to happen. Finally, my car was arranged to be dropped off with me in exchange for the loaner vehicle. The employee who dropped it off had no idea the frustrating situation I had been through, and once again, no apologies. My father has been a Honda driver for 25 years and has had such great experiences down in Orange County. It looks like I will be making a point of never going to Santa Barbara Honda again. Hopefully I won't receive any more texts for Mark to pick up his car. ZERO STARS.

Honda Santa Barbara is fortunate to have Jim as an employee. I trust him and he knows what he is doing. He pays attention and keeps me informed about my car and the costs involved. I have been lucky to have him assigned to my car. Jim never seems to take a break or even sit down. He is just about perfect and he is the reason why I keep coming back year after year to have my 2003 Honda CRV serviced.
