I bought a 2025 Carnival LX on 6/29/24. On 7/10/24 I went out to my driveway and I tried to start my vehicle and to my surprise it did not start! I have not had this van for 14 days! You can assume I was very upset and frustrated. My husband was out of town and I am stuck at the house trying to figure out how I am going to get my kids to school and myself to work. I called your emergency roadside assistance and they came out and jumped the car. They told me to drive straight to Bev Smith Kia, so that is what I did. I worked with Jamie Feliciano and she was understanding and willing to work with me and figure out why my brand new car didn’t start. She said they would do diagnostic tests on the battery starter and alternator. Kia shuttled me to work. I was told I would get updates through your the day….. that did not happen. I proceeded to text and call multiple times with no response. When I get to Kia to speak to SOMEONE about an update I am told that all their testing came back normal and that there was nothing they could do. I was beyond infuriated. My question to them was, “ If this car shuts off in me in the middle of the road and someone hits me and my two children, will you all be liable for that?” I received no answer. Then I asked for a rental car because I did not feel safe driving home with my children in a car that doesn’t run properly with only 237 miles on it! Jaime sent me to the sales department because she said that the service department does not handle the rental vehicles. When I went up to sales, I spoke to Alan trout who spoke with John the sales manager about the issue I was having. John seemed like he could not be bothered with the situation. He had Alan come back to me and he said that “ We don’t handle rentals here in service.” I said “ Well, I was sent here by service to speak with someone about a rental.” Alan went back to John and asked again, then John told Alan to tell me “If I want a rental for the day I would have to pay for it.” I’m sorry, I bought a car not even two weeks ago and it’s not starting and I am asking for them to figure the problem out and they want me to pay for a rental! I told them absolutely not! Then D-wade stepped in and walked back to service with me and we spoke with Jim the service manager and he was saying their isn’t anything we can do if the diagnostic testing is coming back normal. Ultimately, after an hour of headache and going back and forth with I don’t know how many people I was given a courtesy vehicle, they kept the car overnight and started it up every couple of hours and it started with no issue. I drove home yesterday in the van with no answers and still very upset.
