I initially brought my car to the shop because the brakes were making a scraping noise. After all is said and done I still don't know what was the source of the noise. I received a text message asking if I had any questions. I replied asking if they had found the source of the scraping noise. I never received a reply to my question. The next text message I got was around 12:05 saying that my car was ready for pickup but that you had some type of power outage. When I called back, I left a message to find out if I could pick up my car and what was the noise from, the brakes. Hong returned my call but before we could discuss anything we were disconnected mid- sentence. Hong never attempted to call me back using a cell phone or some other form of communication. I called several times and text messaged, but did not receive a reply. I really needed my car because I had an Metro assignment that I needed to get to. There was no time for me to get someone else to take my place. I ended up having to walk very far (30 minutes)at the last minute. I am disabled, so today I am experiencing a great deal of pain as a result. I feel that it is outrageous to leave someone stranded that way and not return phone calls, even if you do have a power outage. Just about everyone carries a cell phone and can at least make calls that way. I'm extremely frustrated because we ended up spending $2,000 unexpectedly and did not get to the root cause of the problem I initially brought my car in for. I have never paid that much for a service at Honda. This was my far the the worst customer service experience I've ever had at Honda. I have been a loyal customer for over 30 years, but I'm considering changing to a different repair shop as a result of this ridiculous experience. When Hong sent me a text to apologize later, he put it in all caps which means shouting, just in case he does not know. I assume he meant well, but someone should let him know not to accidentally offend others .

I feel like I was taken advantage of. I will look for a new place to service my car. I looked up the price for parts and feel like a fool for paying so much for labor.

Highly disappointed in the service team. I visited the service department for an oil change and tire rotation. I arrived at Oakland service at 7:30 and left at 1:30pm. The service team informed me I had an oil leak. I recently had an oil leak fixed. This time around the service tech indicated they would use a dye to detect the area of the oil leak. I was highly upset after hearing this. Why wasn’t this done on the last visit. I felt like I was being scammed. I was quoted $3,900 to fix the new leak. Which is totally insane. My time and money is being wasted. I do not feel valued as a customer of 20+ years. I also noticed the service tech that initially helped me did not advise me regarding my vehicle an Asian male was in her place. When it was time to check out she was my service tech again. Again, I’m highly disappointed in the service team. I patronize the dealership to ensure my car is fixed by experts. I no longer feel that way.

This was absolutely the worst experience I have ever had getting my car serviced. I have been going to Hondas since 2019 for all of my service, but after this experience I will never be back to any Honda service center. I went in asking for two things, and reiterated that I was there for those two things alone: a battery and oil change. Out-loud, we discussed how I didn’t need to do a 35K mile maintenance package because I did the 30K one the year prior and my car is only at 28K miles. This is what the person who helped me said out-loud to me, he told me I could wait on the 35K maintenance. He then went and added the 35K mile package anyways without verbally telling me and I didn’t catch it in the final printout. Then, when I complained that this isn’t what we discussed, he went on to gaslight me about our conversation saying that the system prompted him to provide this service because it had been 3 years, which is a lie as my history shows the 30K service performed last year at this same service center. Then he says it prompts him when a car is at 30K miles, another lie because I’m only at 28K. Why would he even suggest a 35K mile package at that point, it just doesn’t make sense and he can’t justify why. He also didn’t even suggest it to me, he just added it to the paperwork without confirming! If it had been made clear to me that that was being added absolutely I would have not gotten that service because it truly just didn’t make sense to even do it for my car at this time. I’m absolutely disgusted by the way they took advantage of me, and my service ended up being about $600 more than it should have been. That isn’t a small lump of change, that’s an amount that really affects someone’s life. Honda is a huge company, absolute shame on them and this center for the way they are praying on individuals.
