Both surfaces of the front seats and the drivers door threshold had spots of some tar-like substance that took a lot of elbow grease and cleaning solution to remove. Had I not been in a hurry to get home I would have brought this to Alex’s attention.
Otherwise, the experience at Toyota was fine.
I am generally happy with the quality of service. Alejandro was friendly and courteous, and easy to work with. However, it took more than a half day to do a simple oil/filter change and checkup, even after I made the appointment. I hope this is a one time hiccup and not what’s to come.

Pablo is a five star team member. He went out of his way to make sure he understood what my vehicle’s needs were, and offered comprehensive evaluations without making it seem like he was upselling anything. He also wanted to be sure I received help with the Uber ride since I came from out of town. He was great and I will probably return and request him for my next service visit!
I requested a synthetic oil change and tire rotation when making my appointment online. I showed up five minutes early and waited 25 minutes to get checked in while four people who showed up after me got through the process. I was then given a quote for $1750 for my oil change!!! When I told him that was outrageous he changed it to $350. I explained I’m not paying that for an oil change. He said I can take out the fuel stabilizer and oil conditioner which I had never asked for. He finally quoted me a normal price of $120. Also the liftgate on the Tacoma bed plastic slow close hinge was broken. I asked if he could fix it and he quoted me $253 for a “tailgate diagnosis.” I didn’t need a diagnosis. I just told him and showed him what was wrong with it. After leaving, I found the part for seven dollars online with a 30 second installation video. I’ve been coming to Toyota of Santa Barbara for a long time, and this is the first time I’ve ever felt like I was truly trying to be ripped off, and it didn’t feel good. When leaving after the oil change, my wife noticed that the cap on the wheel was missing and we sat there for 20 more minutes while it was looked for and then I was told I’d get a phone call at some point.
Alex was courteous, understanding and he knows his stuff well. Alex is one of the best service advisor I had ever dealt with. Thanks for having him on board as your (dealership) representative!
Wish there was still service to drop people home while they wait for the car to be serviced.
