I originally went to Maverick Toyota (closer to my house). I was instantly harassed by the tire guy saying I needed new tires. I just bought tires 16,000 miles ago so it seemed odd, nonetheless I drive my children around so if I needed new tires, then I would buy them. Well then I realized michelin warranties the tires I bought for 55k miles so I wanted to initiate the claim. The tire guy and my service person at Maverick originally said I didn’t buy new tires. Once I produced the tire receipt, they magically found the record. The tire guy, Morris, seemed disappointed and let me know the warranty is void unless I got my recommended alignments and rotations. Almost like he was hoping I hadn’t. I did. After correcting Maverick on their math, they put in the claim. I had used 29% of my tire warranty therefore was entitled to 71% credit towards replacement. The original offer per my service person was I pay 60% warranty covers 40%. Then it switched to me paying 40% them paying 60%. Additionally, I’d need another alignment done. Mine was “bad” and “must be the roads” since I just had it done in November. I was told that to unusual treadwear, I wouldn’t get the full warranty coverage. I just had bad vibes and terrible service so I decided to pick my car up and take it to Norm Reeves. I bought my car at Norm R. And I get my major work done there. I’ve always felt like I’ve had honest service and good service people. I explained everything to John and he asked if he could run another inspection. I was okay with being charged for new tires and alignment as safety is my priority. However, after running the inspection, it was found my car didn’t need tires or alignment, or any of the other 2k+ worth of work recommended by Maverick. My husband and I are both Toyota drivers and John just earned two loyal customers to Norm Reeves. Although Maverick is closer and more convenient, The honesty and customer care at Norm Reeves sets it apart. Thank you so very much for putting my mind at ease and making me feel like I’m not just an idiot customer that should be taken advantage of.
