I brought in my 2012 Ford Expedition EL Limited in for repair and it turned into a super drawn-out experience. I had an extended warranty, which covered the repair, but Ford Warranty required an engine tear down. The tear down took 7 days, plus a week for all the testing even before the tear down took place! West Hills Ford had my truck since May 28th and today I picked it up (June 21st). I called several times to find out the status but because West Hills doesn't have the option to hold, I left voice mails. Colin Arper only once called me back. Because I wasn't getting my call backs returned, I had to call and ask for other available service people or the service manager, John. The communication was terrible! Once Ford Warranty approved my repair, the rebuild only took 2 days. I was never given a truthful explanation other than, "well, it was a big job." I'm completely unimpressed. When I went to pick up my vehicle, I spoke first with John the service manager to express my dissatisfaction and wanted to know if he'd be willing to help me out and at the very least waive my $100 deductible. He told me that he would not do that and gave me several reason why he wouldn't. A couple reasons were dishonest, but I wasn't going to argue with him; that would've been very unfruitful. In the end, I left feeling like I had just been patronized and disrespected. I was really hoping that he or Colin would make it right or take off the $100. I have to admit that it's crazy he wasn't able do that when he was billing Ford Warranty $3800 + several hundred for the rental. Because West Hills had my car over a month, dozens of my coworkers had been asking me about it and I was able to share with all of them how awful of an experience I had. I know specifically of two who were going to take their car in for service but will not be going to West Hills. It's too bad that John the service manager had a golden opportunity to make things right and wouldn't probably appeased my dissatisfaction. Instead, he made me very angry by the way he treated me. I will not hesitate to share my experience with everyone I encounter as well as leaving honest online reviews. I hope whoever reads this will pass this along and use this as a teaching opportunity in customer service.

Initially I was not happy after continued hold so I went online to schedule service but due to the newness of the recall I requested a call back to ensure parts were available and to better understand how long to expect. After not getting a call fir over a week I called only to be told that the service write will discuss when I bring my explorer in.. that does not help with the before mentioned or if a rental would be needed. Fortunately I was transferred to a service writer that seemed far more knowledgeable and ensured all went really smoothly and not inconvenient
