This was the worst experience that I have ever encountered with a car and beyond disappointed in Hardin Honda. I’ve only had two cars in my life and both have been purchased and strictly serviced at Hardin Honda. All maintenance, from oil changes to minor/major services, have been completed at Hardin Honda in hopes that my car will be taken care of. I blindly trusted in Hardin Honda and never questioned the services suggested. On Monday, 2/26, I took my car in for service due to the check engine light turning on along with a slight screech when turning off the engine. When I told the advisor, Cezar Melena, the reason for being there he insisted that I pick which problem the tech should look at- either the engine light or the screech in the engine .When I requested both issues be looked at, especially since they could be connected, Cezar insisted that only one problem could be addressed per visit and kept insisting that I select which problem was more important. He said the tech would only take a look at one of the problems. It wasn’t until after checking in the car that Cezar agreed to document both of my concerns. I’ve been going to Hardin Honda for over 20 years and I have never experienced such poor service or an advisor saying only one issue can be addressed per visit. How am I supposed to select which issue is more important? That is why I am bringing my car to you, so that the tech can take a look at the car and determine the problem. My car was checked in by 7:30, it wasn’t until almost 2:30 that Cezar called to tell me that I needed a brand new engine. I had called earlier asking for updates only to be told the tech hadn’t looked at my car. Again, never in 20 plus years have I had my car at Hardin Honda for 7 hours with no information. Furthermore, when asked if there was any work that could be done in the mean time to get my car working Cezar said no, options were to buy a new engine or have the engine rebuilt outside of Honda but that the car was not driveable. Upon reviewing the documents, there is no proof of tests done to confirm the diagnostic that I was given. This service was extremely disappointing. I trusted Hardin Honda and now I am left wondering how many other times was I taken advantage of and given incorrect information. I obtained a second opinion and the recommendation was not a brand new engine. Not only am I extremely disappointed in Hardin Honda but the information of having to buy a new engine caused me severe anxiety, migraines and loss of sleep; my mental and physical health have been affected by the misinformation I was provided. I would like a refund for the incorrect diagnosis that I paid for. Sadly, my 20 plus years at Hardin Honda are over.
