FORMAL COMPLAINT - Gross Negligence and Unacceptable Service on a Brand-New Lease To the General Manager and Service Director of Downey Hyundai, I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding the appalling and dangerous lack of service I received from your dealership immediately after leasing a brand-new Hyundai Ioniq yesterday. Before I even drove the car off your lot, the front driver's side tire was low on air. My salesperson, Angel, had it filled up. When the low tire pressure warning appeared again today, I brought the vehicle back to your service department, expecting a thorough inspection. Instead, your service team displayed sheer incompetence and laziness. They brushed off my safety concerns, falsely claimed it was simply "weather-related," and sent me away without doing a proper check. Refusing to accept this absurd excuse, I went home and performed a basic soapy water test myself. Within seconds, I found the exact location of the leak where bubbles were actively forming. It is completely unacceptable that a customer had to diagnose a tire leak in their own driveway because your "certified" technicians refused to do their jobs. Because I could no longer trust your service department with my safety, I had to take my brand-new car to America's Tire. They had to dismount the tire and apply a proper inner patch to fix the leak that your team ignored. I have the video proof of the leak and the service record from America's Tire. Delivering a vehicle with a leaking tire is bad enough, but dismissing a customer's legitimate safety concern on day one is an absolute disgrace to the Hyundai brand. I want this incident permanently documented in my lease file so that I am not penalized for this tire repair upon return. Furthermore, I expect a prompt response from management regarding how you intend to make up for this gross negligence and the completely ruined experience of leasing a new vehicle. If this matter is not addressed to my satisfaction immediately, I will escalate this formal complaint to Hyundai Motor America Corporate, along with filing reports to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and the California Department of Consumer Affairs. I was honestly surprised that the overall service took nearly 3-4 hours… I paid for the first tier service and at the end they had forgotten to wash my car and that had me wait even longer. When I had first gotten my car I was told the servicing would be free however after I checked in to my appointment I was told I had to pay. So confusing… Really disappointed with that experience given it was my first time using it and my family have been loyal customers for years at this dealership.

S/w Mayra regarding my tint windows, I specifically had asked for the limo tint. I dropped off my car Friday Morning at 11:00am-12:00pm. Mayra called stating they had to keep the car over night to finish the tint on my car. Didn’t got a call back Saturday or Sunday. Got a call on Monday stating my car was ready and they ended up applying the lightest tint they have. Such a horrible service!!

I went in with an 8am appointment for oil change and a recall. I waited for over five hours when I was informed it would be three hours. During those five hours I spoke with Monica twice: once if she could inform Rene that I would be waiting in the waiting area at around 9:35am or so and around 12:30 to get a status up to receive a text at 12:34pm with a vehicle report. I knew immediately that Rene was a new representative because MARIO helped them in finding my vehicle warranty. I tried to get Mario’s attention at around 12:30 but he un acknowledge meme when I was standing right in front of him. At around 1:30pm the lady sitting next to me who had been waiting for awhile as well told me they were taking forever on her car. To shortly find out that she had been waiting for three without an appointment. I was standing behind her in to speak to someone about my car. At this point all representatives were at their stations. Rene finished helping the lady then turn around to speak to a mechanic, it was not until I spoke up and said all of you guys see me here and no one asked if I needed help. Rene at this point acknowledges me and I expressed that I was bothered that I have not heard from anyone about my car. I asked him for a managers name. He responded with his name but not a phone number. He finished paperwork and sent me on my way. I went to retrieve my leftovers and asked to speak to the manager but he was a lunch and was taken to speak to a lady in an office with a gentleman where I expressed my experience and how awful staff was. I was informed they ( Monica, Rene, and Mario)would be spoken to. This was the worse experience at this location.

I personally wanted to commend the Service staff of Downey Honda - especially Jose Martinez who was very attentive to the need to maintain my vehicle at the pristine condition. Also I have been trusting the working Servce crew of this facility and hopefully they would continue to maintain the same high level of service.
