I understand that the service department has like a universal key but is not available. I was disappointed with my recent service experience with Scott. When I mentioned that my mechanic had recently done some work on my car, he replied, “Then why come to Toyota for your oil change? Can’t your mechanic do that too?” — which came across as rude and dismissive.
When I asked about my tire pressure not syncing with my Toyota app, Scott told me that he “doesn’t deal with apps” and that I should contact Toyota directly. He also seemed unaware of the dealership’s own “Afternoon Oil Change Special” listed on the website, insisting that the dealership didn’t put out coupons until I showed it to him.
Overall, I felt that Scott was disappointed I didn’t approve an additional $1,000 in “essential” services and that he questioned the integrity of my mechanic, implying they couldn’t perform the recommended work.
I didn’t have this kind of experience with Damian during my previous visit — he was professional, kind, and informative — and I’ll be requesting him in the future.
For context, I come to Toyota for oil changes because my vehicle has an extended warranty from the dealership where I bought my car
, and I want powertrain maintenance documented through a Toyota service center to protect that coverage.
