Background:
On June 3, 2025, I brought my wife’s 2021 Lexus NX 300H in for a repair and 50K service. I have fully paid for both the repair and the service.
Current Issue:
The repair is still incomplete because one clamp and one hose are backordered. The service staff informed me verbally that these two parts are expected to arrive in July, and that I would be contacted to bring the vehicle back once they’re available for installation.
I requested written confirmation of this pending repair from both the service advisor and the cashier. Although the service advisor promised to send documentation, I have not received anything. My concern is that there is currently no written record of the promised replacement of these two missing parts, despite the fact that I’ve already paid for them. I worry that, without documentation, the service department may forget or overlook this commitment.
My Disappointments are 2 fold:
1. Lack of Documentation of Pending Repair:
The service department failed to provide written confirmation of the parts that remain to be replaced. All I have is a verbal assurance, which puts the **** of proof on me. This creates unnecessary stress and uncertainty.
2. Poor Communication:
When I dropped off the vehicle on June 3 at 7:45 AM, I was told it would be ready in two days. When I texted back on the second day, I was told it would likely be ready by day three. However, as of day ten, the repair still wasn’t complete. I was never proactively updated about the delays — I had to reach out each time for information.
Eventually, the service department gave me a discount of the repair. Overall, I am happy the vehicle is drivable but I need documentation of pending repairs.
