I brought my car in Friday for an oil change and a basic checkup to make sure everything was okay. Three days later, it stalled on the interstate with warning lights. I had it towed back to the dealership at my own expense.
I was told the cause was debris in the intake, something that seemed like it could’ve been caught on Friday. Between the initial visit, the second repair bill, and the tow, I ended up spending around $600. That’s a lot to absorb when I came in trying to prevent a breakdown.
While I appreciated being offered a loaner and the staff were professional overall, it didn’t feel fair to pay twice — once to check the car, and then again to fix what should’ve been caught during that check.
A partial refund or goodwill credit for the second bill or towing cost would’ve gone a long way toward making this feel like a dealership that truly stands behind its work.
I’ve been a loyal Toyota owner for years, and I want to keep trusting your service team — but this experience shook that a bit.

I came in just to get a tire repaired from a nail. First, you guys tried to upsell me with a filter replacement, when I was just in for a free 10k mile service where you never mentioned I needed the filter done. Second, the tech didn't call me and I had to walk back over to find out if my car was done (calling was useless), and third I had the other three tires filled properly to 45 psi and the technician for some reason let air out in random amounts so all the tires have different pressures when I picked it up, below optimal.

After I left the Smart Toyota lot I was driving toward the mall and my speedometer said I was going over 45. I was astonished. It turned out that whoever serviced my car must have accidentally converted mod to km/h.
I turned around and went back to the lot. A young lady who worked at Smart Toyota reset the speedometer to mph and everything was fine here than this delay caused me to miss an important meeting.
This was not a train smash, but just a little more attention to detail would have turned my No into a Yes.
