I bought the vehicle used from Smart Toyota a few years ago. Part of the appeal of the sale for me was the guarantee that it was “meticulously maintained” and “had a perfect service history”.
I was surprised to learn today that there were a few recommended maintenance items that should have happened 50k+ miles ago, including service that would have been recommended at the time of when I purchased the car. I have had the car serviced by Smart Toyota several times over the years, and very disappointed that today was the first time the recommended service was brought up. And it is especially frustrating that this wasn’t disclosed during the original sales process.
From my perspective it feels like the prior service people I had worked with weren’t paying attention to what my vehicle needed. And I feel like my sales experience wasn’t as honest as I had originally thought it was. Overall, this whole thing will influence my future business and recommendations for others to work with Smart Toyota.

My experience was alright, just Sean wasn't aware that I only need one oil change per year, and secondly, his communication was extremely unclear when he tried to explain why I should take the oil change deal of 5 services over 2 years. He had a hard time laying out the details, so it just took a while to reach agreement and understanding.

Whoever serviced my car left a piece unscrewed, which then hit my tire on my hour drive home and along with sounding awful like the tire was falling off, did damage to the piece and possibly to my tire. When I called on Monday morning to have them check it before Work which means driving an hour back to your service center. The person who answered the phone told me they could get me in later that day. I would think you would try to work around my schedule since you did damage to my car. Pretty disappointed since all I came in for was a tire rotation.

I would suggest adjusting the online service quote system. I was quoted 155 for an oil change and tire rotation (which already seems pretty expensive) and total came out to 175 which included ~$18 for shop supplies. What is that all about?
