While Trevor was really knowledgeable and took time to explain things related to a timing chain cover seepage I feel like his info related to having to do a nearly $4000 fix on an 11 year old van wasn’t great advice.
What he has to say sounded very believable but I have spent almost 3 full days on Toyota forums, auto mechanic forums, YouTube videos that are posted by incredible Toyota Mechanics like the “Car Care Nut” who advise that this problem is not worth the cost. Most mechanics and Toyota dealerships even recommend watching the oil level and topping it off about over a month.
Maybe Trevor wants the van to run the best it possible could but I wish he would have given other options. I don’t think my comment is just in response to the fact that I don’t like his answer bc it means a ton of money. If everyone online had said “yeah this is just an unfortunate thing that you have to do” then I would pull the trigger.

When I made the appt I ask if the wipers get checked but nothing was done while servicing. I ask when I checked out but there was nothing on the work order. So the young lady ask and was told no even though this is supposed to be part of the inspection so she changed them herself. Thank you. Also I did not get the complimentary car wash. I understand the service guy was new but he didn't do his job very well. He needs to do better.
