They did great work, no doubt. The only reason I said “no” is because I knew it was the only way to get this seen. Immediately after I got home from the dealership, I got a text from Edmunds mentioning I’d just had it serviced and my car is in “high demand” and they want to buy it off me.
Is paying hundreds of dollars for service not enough? You have to sign me up to get spammed now? This never happened before. Is making 100s of millions every year selling cars and providing services not enough for Toyota now?
I don’t know if I’ll keep using the dealership now. There are plenty of great, local shops here in town I could go to instead: I don’t need to drive 30 minutes to Toyota so I can get data scraped and spammed in thanks. Local shops which have never signed me up to be spammed.
They do this crazy thing instead where they charge me for a service and deliver the service and that’s the end. Weird, I know. You should try it.
