Taz was great! It was the male service advisor working with her who wasn’t very nice. When she went to lunch, he came to me and recommended different things, one of which he said was a drive belt which he said had a “crack” in it. I asked if I could see what he was talking about and he said he didn’t have the manpower to take the car down to show me. He kept insisting that they would replace it and then, I could have the old belt back to see. I told him I wanted to see what he was referring to as a “crack”. before I made a decision. He said he didn’t have time and kept pressuring me to have it replaced as once he gets it down, I’ll have to come back another time. I asked him if he could take a picture and he said he’ll see. When he eventually brought the car around, there was no “crack” in the belt, it was just worn. It was upsetting that he used these pressure and somewhat deceptive tactics. Definitely NOT good customer service. Thought you should know that Taz was very customer friendly. She apologized she was out to lunch when I had been approached by the other service advisor.

The communication that I received at the Honda of oakland service center for my recent service was completely unacceptable. When I dropped off my car, I let Chris know that I needed to pick up my children by 5 PM and he informed me that he would be giving me a call between 3 and 4 PM with the status of my vehicle. That did not happen. He left the day without ever informing me that my car was finished or that he was transferring me to another advisor. I called multiple times in the afternoon to try and get a hold of a representative and I was not able to. I was not even told I could pick up my car until 5:51 PM. And didn’t receive a text message or any form of communication until 5:55 PM from Hong Nong Who was quite dismissive of my situation and the fact that I did not have a vehicle to pick up my children. I will be in contact with your service manager, Alan Havernas and the general manager- Bryson Hicks. About the poor service I feel I received from both Chris Abernathy and Hong Nong.

On the positive , Chris was very professional and I appreciate him working to get the car done in a timely manner when an emergency came up and I had to quickly get the car. But I have two issues with my service today- and I think it mostly relates to Honda Oakland’s prices and business practices . 1. I was overcharged for the service -especially for the cost of labor which came out to $700. After I got my car serviced - I researched the cost of a 60k multi inspection and called several dealerships. The range I got was anywhere from $500 to $839. See link-https://www.consumeraffairs.com/automotive/honda-maintenance.html. $1440 for essentially an oil change , refilling fluids, rotating tires, and an inspection seems exorbitantly high. One of the reasons why I agreed to the cost is because we had an issue with a blown out tire about a year and a half ago and it took Honda Oakland almost 5 months to get the car repaired so now I’m pretty diligent and paranoid about getting service checks to prevent another accident. But I now regret agreeing to this cost in light of what I know now. 2. I wonder if it was actually necessary to get all the services done. I received a call a few weeks ago stating that I was due for a service- even though my last service check was 8 months ago in October for the 35 k service check- which came out to approximately $670. Only 8 months later your dealership recommended that I get a 60k multi inspection check. I have been going to Honda Oakland since we got our pilot in 2019. I found everyone to be pretty forthcoming about what was necessary for the car. But after today I won’t have my car serviced at Honda Oakland anymore.
