There is not enough space to adequately explain the fundamental flaws of the Ford service model and experience. This specific service was great with Andrew Shannon and he did a fantastic job but as I explained to him, it is ridiculous to schedule a time to drop off a vehicle so that I can be in a 72 hour cue to have it looked at.
I have avoided service at Ford to the point that I did not buy a 100,000 mile warranty on my last truck because i have had so many bad experiences with Ford service over this last 10 years.
I’m happy to talk with the service manage or general manger but please don’t have a service rep call me for further details. It’s my belief that Ford must sale move vehicles in this area than they can adequately service and that is why I have received such poor service over the years.
I know of NO other service organization that has you schedule an appointment then keeps your property for up to 3 days to even look at it and don’t have loaners available. Rental for $40 a day just adds up to $120 in cost before you even look at the vehicle.
Image a service experience where your ice maker goes out on your refrigerator but everything else works fine. You call the shop and they schedule a time for you to drop it off. You clean out all the food, put it in coolers and drop it off on a Wednesday. The rep says, clearly the ice maker is broke but we will have someone look at it within 72 hours and let you know what’s wrong. 3 days later, just like they promised, they call and say “your ice-maker is broken and we don’t have the parts. They will be in Monday or Tuesday. Feel free to come pick up your fridge then just bring it back Tuesday so we can replace the ice maker.”
I really didn’t think this format would all this much text but as I said, Andrew did great but the service model itself is greatly flawed and can be done better.
