On the drive home to Sequim with the serviced vehicle there was a loss of radiator coolant that allowed the engine temp. to climb to dangerous levels. Upon shutdown on the highway and subsequent inspection coolant fluid was noticed dripping off the front differential that had blown back from the front of the engine block bottom end. Upon further inspection of a cold engine I've been able to determine that no leakage has occurred from the upper forward end of the engine nor from the bottom of the water pump shaft so I suspect it's either the lower hose (which West Hills put on new) or the Thermostat housing (which West Hills removed for the radiator flush). However, I've not been able to confirm either of these possibilities yet. In discussion with a West Hills service rep. on Saturday on how to proceed I've been directed to tow the vehicle to my nearest service center (Wilder in Port Angeles) for evaluation & cause determination for repair with coordination between the two dealerships if it's found that the cause is related to the recent West Hills servicing. Currently in speaking with Wilder they anticipate an opening in their service schedule over the next 10 working days but will try to fit the Jeep in for evaluation whenever they can. I'm anticipating to tow the vehicle in tomorrow (Monday, 6 Aug.) to begin the review process...…..
