Keep the girls in the service desk. Had numerous problems with the men in the past getting my oil change done correct with the right oil. They are not as attentive as the girls.

I didn't expect free diagnostics, but it was more than I anticipated with no prior estimate. I was also expecting a call back regarding whether this is normal for a Mazda. I may just trade it in and go back to trusty Toyota.
