Very attentive and polite
Robert was kind, knowledgeable and took great care of both me and my car. He kept me informed on what was happening and provided a very reasonable estimate of repair costs. He is a wonderful asset to Toyota of Murfreesboro. Should my car ever need other repairs, I would not hesitate to bring it to Robert again. Not many service centers I would say that about, but Toyota of Murfreesboro definitely got it right when they hired Robert.
The replacement installation today looks to have been done well and correctly. The plastic seat trim which houses the seat controls has a very snug fit that looks factory installed. He did a great job. I had this same piece replaced on 2/5/25 just over a year ago as it had cracked before and was a known issue. I don’t know which tech did that work and did not realize at the time as it was a replacement part that was supposed to be more sturdy but I recall that there was a gap between that plastic trim and the seat of about a half inch to one inch gap. I thought at the time that perhaps that was the way it was supposed to be because it was supposed to be a more sturdy replacement or so I was told. Looking at the new installation today it makes me think that perhaps the first replacement piece wasn’t installed properly and that is why it cracked again. That first replacement piece was done under warranty but today’s replacement cost me $273 because it broke just over a month outside the 12 month replacement warranty. That might not have happened if it had been installed properly the first time. I wish I had taken photos of the first replacement last year so I could have compared them. I did take photos this time. I’m very pleased with the tech’s work today and I don’t want any of the past experience to reflect on him. I work in the auto industry as well and I know these surveys and comments can have a negative impact a lot of times unfairly to employees that had nothing to do with various parts of the customer’s service experience. The only downside to this interaction is having to pay for a second replacement that could possibly have been avoided with proper installation the first time.

He was very thorough explaining service that is recommended, and even looked back through the records to see if he could find if or when my Highlander had had fuel system service, going back 62,000 miles.
