I scheduled a routine 55,000 mile tire rotation service on the Toyota application where I chose to get this service which included a tire rotation, fluid top off and routine vehicle inspection. When I got to the dealership, I checked in with an employee who also verbally confirmed my appointment and confirmed with me I was there for just this service. I signed this form showing this service to be done on the employee’s digital tablet and saw that I was singing for just this service for an estimate of $24.99. My car got taken in for this service and another employee came to me, showing me my cabin air filter needing replacement. I verbally agreed to her that I would be okay getting this replaced. When my vehicle was finished, I received the bill which included a $109.00 oil change to which I never verbally nor with written consent agreed to this service. When I questioned the employee about this, she stated that the person working on my vehicle
Stated that my vehicle needed an oil change so they conducted the service. Again this was never at any time communicated to me prior to being handed the bill. The employee stated that I was over for the allotted time period for an oil change which she stated was 6 months. I am thourgholy disappointed that this was never communicated to me and I never consented to receive this service. At the end of the day, I had to pay the $109.00 oil change which I did not want to receive. After paying and speaking with the employee that checked me out, I looked at a text message that was sent to my phone about the services done to my vehicle and observed that a receipt with an oil change was signed by an unknown employee of Smart Toyota and this signature was CLEARLY not my signature from when I originally signed when speaking with the employee checking me in. I’ve been going to Toyota since I purchased my vehicle new in 2020 for all of my maintenance services and am very disappointed in the way that this was handled. The only response I got from the employee checking me out was “I’m sorry this wasn’t communicated to you”. I now question the integrity of the Smart Toyota employees that worked with me during this service and wish they would be more transparent with this. I hope that a Smart Toyota supervisor will look into this and speak to me about this service.

Melissa is wonderful. She went out of her way to accommodate me and keep me informed of the results of the test and repair options. (I brought the car in a week early, oops.)

I’m completely floored with the level of service, professionalism, and knowledge that Melissa and the team of professionals had with our repairs. She and others went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of throughout our extended maintenance. Dropping $10,000+ on a repair is not something that anyone wants to do, but Melissa and everyone was able to relay all options and details in a helpful and compassionate manner. We will absolutely be back.
