Update: I returned to notify them that my car was still making the same noise. Eric the service manager said it would take them 30-45 minutes to figure out the issue. I waited for 2 hours and they could not find the issue. Then when I asked for an update, one of the mechanics told Eric “a SPECIAL customer would like to know about his car”. And the way he said “special” was very demeaning, as if he was trying to insult me. Eric then told me he’d call me back to schedule a rental so they could keep the car overnight and try to see if the car made the same noise, even though I showed them numerous videos of the car making the same noise aftey they attempted to fix it. Still very unhappy. Original review: I bought my GOLD Toyota Certified 2020 Toyota Corolla here in late August of 2025. It passed a multi-point inspection for it to have this certification and was supposed to be exceptional and not give me any problems for a long time. And yet in January of 2026, about 5 months later after buying this car, the car battery would die in a few hours after being turned off and the serpentine (drive) belt would make a loud squeeling noise upon being turned on. I recharge the battery and manage to turn my car back on and drive it to work. Then when I leave to go home, car is dead again. Had to recharge the battery again. So I bring the car in to this location on 1/19/26 as I am under the impression that warranty will cover it and they will take care of me. I speak with the service advisor and he tells me it could be the alternator or the battery, but would only charge me for one diagnostic if it was the alternator. Turns out, it WAS the alternator and it was covered under warranty. Well, then I was told that they were able to also able to include the serpentine belt under warranty and I would be responsible for paying for the battery. I then get told that my car would be ready on 1/21/26, which it was not. So I had to pay for ubers and ask for rides to get around. The car was not ready until 1/24/26. I then come in to pick up my car and get a bill for $519.36, which is an insane number and I contested it. I asked to speak with a manager to voice my frustration and how unfair I feel this was and I was told they would not be in until Monday. To make things worse, I was then told, "Why didn't you tell me you just bought this car with us recently?". I DID! I said it when I FIRST BROUGHT IT IN FOR SERVICE, assuming this location would CONNECT THE DOTS and realize that this vehicle SHOULD NOT be having these issues THIS EARLY, or at ALL! I then get told that I can wait until Monday to speak with a manager, BUT I NEEDED MY CAR NOW. I can't just afford to leave my car at the shop, I have to work and responsibilities to attend to. So I had to pay the full $519.36, and I turn my car on and THE SQUEELING IS STILL THERE. I did not even bother to go back inside to speak with anyone as a "MaNaGEr Is NoT HeRE" at the moment and I was enraged. Advantage Toyota of River Oaks? Yeah, fitting name as they TAKE ADVANTAGE of people. Rename it to "Takes Advantage of People Toyota of River Oaks". Do not buy a car here, do not get your car serviced here.
