Scheduled an oil change and tire rotation and to check why my 4wd, traction control and ABS lights were on. Halfway through he came to me and said I needed a new ABS sensor and quoted me $750 to fix it. I said I’d think about it. Later I went to pay and saw they didn’t rotate my tires because I didn’t schedule that service. I paid them headed to Les Schwab.
Les Schwab rotated my tires for free since I bought my tires there. I had them run a diagnostic to check the sensor. The tech installed the sensor and wire harness for $170 but still didn’t work. He traced the wires up into my engine compartment where he found two wires that were disconnected due to my loosened cold air intake bouncing on the wires for the last few months. He replaced the new sensor with my old one, didn’t charge me, and told me to fix the wires. I reattached the wires myself at home. Took me 15 minutes. My truck is back to normal now.
I’m not sure if Toyota would’ve done the same. Toyota has gotten way too expensive.
