I took my car for an alignment and balancing. They called me that my car was ready and didn’t mention that anything was wrong with my car or the alignment. After paying I checked all the paperwork provided to me and found out they did no provided me the sheet with the specifications of the before and after of the alignment. I asked him about that and he just pulled the sheet under the desk. I checked it and found out the alignment didn’t come out good and several parts are outside of spec. All of this was never communicated to me and I was also never given any reason for why. They were just giving vague reasons as to why maybe it couldn’t be aligned properly instead of actually checking it. After this I told them that I had tried to get it aligned somewhere else a while ago and they told some bolts were seized. Once I told them this they checked with the Mechanic for as to why it couldn’t get properly aligned and after checking they told me the same that the bolts were seized and that they would give me a quote for that repair and then they would do the alignment free. I asked them if they would still do it for free if I decide to repair that somewhere else and they said that it would have to be with there at the dealership because they were doing the free alignment “on good faith” (for something that was clearly their fault…). Then I told him that they didn’t provide the specs sheet until I asked for that and that if I’m taking my car there is because you are supposed to be the professionals and the dealership I can trust. Then he said he was going to check on the quote and I find somewhere cheaper for the repair he is going to look into matching the price.
Overall I think it was a very bad service. They could’ve hace communicated the issue with the bolts since the beginning and not even attempt to align it.
Then I don’t se why the spec sheets wasn’t provided.
There’s was clearly many gaps. The agent didn’t provided me the spec sheet. Then he didn’t even look at it when the mechanic gave it to him because he also never mentioned anything was wrong. And maybe the mechanic also didn’t tell him something was wrong.
As of now nobody has reached out to me with a quote and I don’t see why I would need to repair it there in order to get the alignment free, on a repair that the alignment is already included. And also for something that is clearly the dealership fault.
