Took over 4 hours and not complete. Called service manager and he said they were finishing up the recommendated service paperwork. I then asked if they had changed the air filter and he said no. I reminded him that was put on the service request over the phone and in person today. He said he would make sure it was completed. Must say it's the worst experience I had in all my years at Toyota SB.

I brought my truck in to address a few recalls, the brake lines and software flash for the 2024 Tacoma that all went smoothly.
I actually called in a few times to make this happen, called in when I first heard the brake line parts were being distributed to dealers on the forums, so I called in and I didn’t get a name but someone said call back august 4th. So I called in early August and again I didn’t get a name but spoke with someone about ordering the parts. He was going to give me a call back when the parts arrived but I never got that call.
So when I called back I got connected with Todd, parts were available and we moved fast, all good there.
The one non recall issue I was concerned about was an intermittent issue with my right rear door lock, where it fails to unlock the door and passenger is unable to exit the truck.
Luckily we were able to replicate the issue and I figured that was all the evidence needed, but unfortunately it was working fine when the tech was attempting to replicate, so there was no resolution. A bit of a let down, the passenger in the rear passenger is often my mom so it’s a concern as it’s happened a couple of times and taken a minute or two of attempts to get the door open.
Todd said they need to verify the problem to pursue a replacement, which I understand as a policy.
I did ask if I could purchase the door lock actuator motor at cost or something and replace myself and he’s going to get back to me.
I did ask the parts counter if they would match quotes on parts from other Toyota dealers because why not keep the business local and I was told no, so I’ll probably buy the motor from Toyota of Decatur Alabama, they seem to have the best deals on parts. I’ve had great luck with them.
Again no complaints with Todd, he’s good.
I’ll add I didn’t purchase the truck from Toyota of SB,I did attempt to get a build spec I was after but overheard the guys saying I was after a unicorn (manual trans off road premium).I ended up getting a Toyota fleet car with 1,500 miles on it at a 20% discount so it worked out for me on that front.
I have a 2018 Camry hybrid top-of-the-line that I love and will probably keep forever. The Corolla that you worked on this week I bought for my 18 year-old daughter and she loves it and I think it's the perfect practical car for her age. She said everybody was super nice and she was well taken care of and she went in by herself so I appreciate it thank you
