I felt like Melody was new, and I also felt like I was being tricked into services that I might not need. I was also told my hood latch is rusting because I live close to the beach- I’m not sure this is the case, but was told to spray it down with WD40 every so often until I replace it- just didn’t seem right to me, when my wife parks her Toyota next to mine and we’ve had her car 10 years longer than mine. I also had to get my car out of the back lot and take out the trash inside, lift my seat, and drive through where I wasn’t sure I was able to. Just didn’t have a great experience like usual. For them suggesting +$7k worth of work (when my last few inspections had minor suggestions) to the feeling of them not charging me correctly (didn’t charge me at first for oil, when I know I needed to pay for it, so she adjusted the bill again) I’ve had better experiences there. In addition I wasn’t even out of the parking lot before getting a call, voicemail, and email from a sales person telling me he had the best deal on a new car- I find it highly unlikely it was coincidence. He acted shocked when I went in and told him I don’t want to receive those soliciting calls from Toyota, and have spoken with several people (including managers of some sort) asking not to be contacted.

Daniel was very helpful. He called me to let me know that the technicians were still working on my car, just so I would know they haven’t forgotten me. I liked his initiative to try to personally do a little troubleshooting. I went to Toyota because one of my plug-in cables was not charging the car. Daniel was great.
Todd was great and took good care of me. However, I was not happy that I bought the tire protection when I bought my new car in August and I wonder why you sell that protection plan if you don’t carry the tires? I was there for four hours yesterday because all of your mechanics were at lunch at the same time. I missed almost a whole day of work. I was not happy that I was thin. Told that my car was to be kept overnight because you didn’t have the tires needed in stock. I did not think that was fair for me to have to pay for a rental car.

Was taken care of happy with the experience
Rachel was fine. What bothers me is that when I booked the service appointment online, with my specific vehicle reflected AND the type of service selected, the price displayed was ~$241. Then when I complete the paperwork, the estimate was for over $100 more. When I mentioned the discrepancy, both Rachel and the person who checked me out blamed the website for being out of date citing complicated updates to present the correct prices. I informed the guys on the courts who had some choice words. Dealers are higher priced than independents - I know that. But to me, it seems a dealer has to work a little harder to earn a customer's trust for repeat business. I've been getting my cars serviced at Toyota of SB since 1996. Between this and a revised diagnosis and inflated estimate for my TPMS issue, my next and future services will be with an independent mechanic.
