1.) AutoTram Extra Grand: Introduced in Dresden, Germany, in 2012, the AutoTram Extra Grand is reportedly the longest bus in the world. Measuring just over 100 feet, the bus can carry up to 256 passengers. It is known as a bi-articulated bus because two accordion ribbed sections connect the three passenger compartments.

2.) Youngman JNP6280G: In China, don’t be surprised if you see the 82-feet-long Megabus called Youngman JNP6280G. Carrying up to 300 people, the bus has five doors and 40 seats. Also known as a bi-articulated bus, it has two accordion ribbed sections, which allow it to move around easily throughout the city.

3.) Van Hool AGG300: Another 82-foot-long bus is the Van Hool, which was built in Belgium by its namesake. He created two prototypes in 1990 for demonstration purposes and both are currently being used today. One is in Belgium and the other in Angola. In 2001, the bus was upgraded to the new AGG300 and is widely used in Utrecht. Reportedly, there are plans to bring the bus to the United States and Canada.

4.) Rede Integrada de Transporte: The Rede Inegrada de Transporte (RIT) is a bus rapid transit system in Brazil that began using bi-articulated vehicles in 1992. Each is nearly 92 feet long and can transfer 250 people. Manufactured by Volvo and Marcopolo, the bus is powered by biodiesel made from soybeans.

5.) 0530 Mercedes-Benz GL “CapaCity”: Another large bus that can be seen in Germany, Turkey and Slovakia is the 64-foot 0530 Mercedes-Benz GL. It is referred to as “CapaCity” because it operates in cities with large amounts of passenger traffic.
