When we purchased our new car recently, the low tire pressure light was on during the test drive. Josh told that maintenance would take care of it before we left. My spouse was driving for a Lyft with only 10 pounds of air in the tire when we realized it!! Your maintenance department did not even check the tire pressure before declaring the car good to go on the day that we bought it. (The tire light was still on. I intended to bring it in for service to find out why the light was stuck. In no way could I imagine that they would allow us to leave the lot without even checking the tire pressure! We called our salesman Josh. He was very polite, but the staff in service attempted to charge my spouse to repair the defective tire on our new car!!! Quite honestly, considering what we paid for the car, I think the tire should’ve been replaced and not repaired. Josh got involved with the situation it was resolved, but this is my first Toyota and I’m very disappointed that your service department personnel would allow someone to leave the lot and not even check tire pressure!! I was assured that they checked everything else, but I really don’t trust that they did. If they didn’t even bother to check the air in the tires, what else did they not check? I feel like I have to bring this new car to my local mechanic to make sure that it is indeed roadworthy. I can’t tell you how disappointed I am. I’ve dealt with Kia, Honda, and with Nissan my entire life. This is my first Toyota, and I fail to see how Hampton Toyota has an “award winning“ service department. I’ve been asking to speak to a manager, Thomas, but I’ve been told that he, Thomas, is on vacation. For $31,000 for a pre-owned car, I expected more from Hampton.
