My vehicle has had two transmissions replace since October of 2023 with approxamitly 3000 miles between each replacement. 3000 miles after the most recent transmission replacement a clunk developed in the engine compartment when accelerating. It was determined that the axle splines needed to be lubricated. My issue is that approxamitly 3000 miles ago when the transmission was replaced the axle shaft where removed and if a clunk is know to occur, why wasn’t the splines lubricant at that time. This known issue ended up costing me $390.00 and no vehicle for two days. My point is that if there is an issue with axle splines causing noise if not lubricated why are they not lubricated as a precaution to prevent noise in the future.
