I called for a regular maintenance appointment. I asked how much it was going to be. I was told $89.99. I get there and I’m told it’s time for a 90K review. Ok fine. Parts ended up being $108 and labor $278 which seems way out of proportion. The total was $369. It reminded me of another time, I had a simple bulb replacement, a few dollar item, and was charged something like $80(?) for that!
I was then told I needed three other things done and the total bill would be over $1,000 plus. I wasn’t expecting to spend so much time or money and found the entire experience surprising and frustrating. I hated the creeping time and price increases. The work probably is needed but it’s difficult for me to know since I’m not an expert Still, as it stands, I’m just going to take my car to Mexico to have the work done and save a few hundred dollars.
Last oddity…When I got my car back, someone had spilled a drink on floor of the passenger side. It wasn’t a huge spill but it looks like they went through my glove compartment, founds some napkins, but still left a couple of wet ones on the floor. My registration and insurance was also left on the floor. It fell out when they went through my glove box. I’ve never seen such a thing by a mechanic or Toyota.
