It was an extremely frustrating experience for multiple reasons:
- we made an appointment to get our car serviced. I still had to drop my car off for 3-4 days for a diagnosis. On top of that, I was not offered a loaner car. When I asked, I was told there was only 3 cars available and there was a long list. This made it challenging for me to get to and from work.
- we called to check on the status on day 3. From the response my husband got, it appeared as if my car had not even been looked at yet, and only received attention because we called.
- the technicians could not even diagnose the problem. They kept stating there was an after-market product installed on my car. I believe they must have been referring to the radar from my Honda sensing. I purchased the car directly from Hardin Honda in 2016 brand new and that part was there when I drove it off the lot. They kept stating it was after market and I had to go somewhere else to uninstall it so they can continue to diagnose. This makes absolutely no sense, because I am certain this part was already installed before I purchased it from Hardin. They stated that the part was wired into many other parts of the sensing and they did not want to be liable for taking it down because it was after market. They claimed they never saw anything like that. If you look at other similar models, from even 2017, the same part is there. This leads me to believe one of two things - either the technicians do not have the expertise and resources to understand what that part was and how to disassemble it, or they do know and they do not want to put the labor into it because frankly, it seems like a lot of work.
- it was also frustrating trying to get a hold of the service department. If we called Hardin and a receptionist picked up, we would be transferred with no answer. Many times, it ended on a recording of a woman saying “Brianna?” and hanging up. Please look into that and have it fixed. Fortunately, David provided his extension number.
- David was nice, professional, and responsive. Most of our frustrations lie with how the process works in leaving our car for multiple days and how we still don’t even know what is wrong with it. However, it feels that he didn’t really have much to offer when we were frustrated and we kept talking in circles. It felt like it didn’t really matter to them if they could diagnose our problem or not.
- we ended up picking up the car because there wasn’t a way Hardin would diagnose the problem. Overall, it felt like there was not effort to go above and beyond in trying to help us.

I really wish the mechanics wouldn’t turn my headlights off every time I bring my car in. It’s a hassle to have to turn them on while driving when I realize they’re not on and I’ve been driving without headlights in the dark.

Getting through to the service center was a challenge every time I called. The phone would ring and then go to a voicemail that just said Brittany and no message. No calls left on VM were returned. I had to select another option and they had to walk to the associate. I would have liked better communication on the updates. One the first day, I knew they were doing an evaluation and then supposed to call. By 300, I had not heard so I called and then experienced not being able to get through. I was told car would be worked on next day and maybe complete. Next day did not get an update until I called in late afternoon to be told it wouldn’t be ready until the following day. No call the following day and I finally called at noon and was told would not be done until 4-5. I am not upset that it took 3 days, I am upset about the communication. I needed to plan a ride and make arrangements. I don’t even mind being the one to call in. I was not happy at how hard it was to reach a live person in the service.
