I had the WORST experience with my service advisor Patel and Christina the manager from the Rent a Toyota department. I had an appointment Sunday 5/16 for a fuel pump recall on my 2019 Toyota RAV4 adventure as well as included some other issues we’ve been experiencing with the car as we were already there which was unfortunately disregarded at my last service. I was initially told the work would take a couple of hours and agreed I could obtain a loaner car (4runner through rent a Toyota) in the meantime to run some errands. Later on that Sunday, I receive a call from Patel that they will actually need my car until the next day (Monday 5/17/2021) as a foreman would have to take a further look and we agreed I will stay with my loaner car. I do not live in San Jose/Milpitas area so traveling makes it hard which is why the rental car was so needed as I live in Daly City. Monday comes around and another update is given that car needs to stay until Thursday and only info given was that parts was ordered. Since Monday-Thursday, I did not receive much info or update on my vehicle other than me reaching out to Patel via text Tuesday for an update and to ensure I would not be charged any random miscellaneous fees for the service or rental itself due to warranty again just to cover all bases.
Thursday 5/20/2021 comes and I finally get a call from Patel at 8:37am stating my car is ready for pick up and that I needed to arrive by 6pm to pick up and return the rental. I thoroughly explained to Patel that I do not live in the area and work until 5pm which will make it a bit hard for me to make it by 6pm if I am traveling from Daly City and requested I come Friday instead as my work schedule had more flexibility. Patel states he understood and agreed I can pick up Friday before 6pm and will extend my warranty coverage on the rental car for one more additional day and anything after that would accrue in charges. We both understood and agreed on the plan. An hour later at 9:41am, Christina the manager from Rent A Toyota gives me a call basically stating I needed to return the 4runner rental car I was in by 3pm. I shared the info to Christina that I shared with Patel regarding not being able to do that due to work and Christina was not understanding at all. She proceeded to tell me that the 4runner I was in is reserved and scheduled for someone else to pick up at 6pm thus they need the car back or I will be charged for Thursday since the person who reserved the 4runner is losing out and however long I have the car moving forward since the RO on my vehicle was closed Wednesday night. She then transfers the phone call to the Service Director Ken regarding the issue and I also touched base with Patel and both informed me that if the rental company needs the car then I need to give it back. They mentioned they can have someone come to me to pick up the rental/swap with my car but with an additional cost of course. They also then informed me that the rental company and Toyota are two separate businesses and run differently. Obviously, I had to leave work to pick up my car/return the 4runner as they demanded. I texted Patel that I would arrive in 40 mins/on the way and texted Patel as well when I arrived hoping we could go over my completed service - I received no response and just picked up my car with a copy of my receipt in which no one especially Patel even went over the details of my service - this lacked extreme professionalism.
Overall, everything was extremely stressful and lacked serious communication on all aspects. It was very frustrating to not receive updates as one should regarding my vehicle and to be told a million different things regarding the rental. While I am trying to understand that Toyota is different and completely separate from the rent a Toyota company, I still do think that communication should have been way better as they are just a couple of walking steps from each other’s stations. If I had known/been communicated earlier regarding the situation of the rental, I would have definitely made it a goal to have made arrangements to make it easier for the pick up/return. But in this case, having to leave work as nurse in a high volume hospital so abruptly from 50 minutes away was such an inconvenience for me that seems they failed too even consider. I wonder maybe it is because my needs for my vehicle was covered under warranty & isn’t a big money job that I experienced this? But no customer should have to go through what I did. So much confusion and inconveniences would have been avoided if everyone had been transparent from the get go. I purchased my Rav4 from this dealership which was an excellent Sales department experience which is why I do not mind making the drive to come here to do my service - but will now highly reconsider due to the lack of professionalism.

Brady was Outstanding to interact and work with he answered my questions he handled professionally and timely he communicated well and kept me up to date N provided me with insight end guidance as to what I could do or what needed to be done with the vehicle in the near future in upcoming months. He made recommendations provided pricing suggested services and servicing on top of what I came in for with out being so pushy that I felt like it was just a sales interaction I want to run away from. i have been bringing both my toyotas to piercey for years and this is the first time i received such bad service..first of all i did not get a text when it was ready..i had to call to find out if it was done or not..i also did not get a video msg outlining what the service tech checked on the vehicle which i usually get and lastly i did not get an overview of what was done to the vehicle or what it might need in the future..when i brought the vehicle in the adviser miguel lopez simply told me that i need 60k service and told me the prices of each service without even inspecting the car first..seems like he only cared about selling me maintenance work that i may or may not need based on the mileage..call me old fashioned but dont u have to inspect the car first before recommending work like that? overall not a good service experience..i will seriously re think if i will be bringing my cars back to piercey service in the future especially if the service will be like this..
