When I asked for you to figure out why the the car needed repeated jump-starts, this should have been communicated properly to the technician. Telling him to check the battery is not the same thing. The technician should not have stated that the battery needed replacement based on it arriving discharged. He should have charged it, then tested it. I am not an expert, but this seems pretty basic. To recommend replacement without properly testing it makes me doubt the disgnostic expertise of your Toyota service center in general. I am afraid that in the future you will waste my money replacing perfectly good parts. When we communicated that the problem was occurring before and after the battery was replaced about a month ago, this information was apparently not shared with the technician. When I asked the technician whether there was any way to know whether there was an extra draw on the battery when the car was turned off, he said "no, because it's a Prius." So if a Prius is experiencing an electrical problem, you just throw the car away? He recommended that we take it to another shop to be checked. I thought the Toyota dealer was the gold standard for Toyota service. At least we were only charged for replacement of the combination meter. Frankly, I'd be afraid to take either of our Prius cars back to your shop.
