Zareh Yousefi listened and then fully responded to my request: I asked to see the mechanism that controls outside vs recirculating air due to my Rav4 picking up more regular and strong exhaust smells no matter the button setting. Previous check indicated all was normal.
However... Zareh and Sasoun Khachadoorian demonstrated the open system in front of me - together, we realized filter was in worse shape than we had imagined... replacement seems obvious now!
Thanks to Zareh and Sasoun for helping me stop wondering about the rav 4 quality - and whether smoke and exhaust were just 'normal.'
It is really helpful to feel heard and understood!
Also, I wish Sasoun could make short videos about Toyota design basics - why outside can't be totally shut off... etc.
