First off my representative George was great.
The overall experience of getting recall items replaced because you used poor quality parts is embarrassing enough for BMW costing hundreds of millions to resolve their lack of being able to build safe long lasting cars. My belief is then BMW offset their costs by insuring no one gets away without paying. In my case they told me I should replace my valve covers for $900. I said no just fix the vanos camshaft bolts. SURPRISE! They called and claimed they “BROKE” two of the bolts, thereby essentially forcing me to get the new valve covers. They said the previous owners were at fault. I bought the car used from BMW and was insured a thorough examination was done. I believe BMW turned the recalls into a “for profit” scheme and certainly did aggressive marketing to get people scheduled to realize this elaborate fraud scheme. Prior to all this I was looking into buying the upcoming electric M3 but rest assured I will never buy a BMW ever again.
