I’m just overall unahappy with Toyota service and every dealership in so cal. I took my car in because my radio headunit just stopped working on a new car along with so many concerns with my vehicle and of course it’s a defective radio from what I was told. But guess what after taking it to the dealership I now can’t turn on my car with my key fob like I used to. I have been a forever Toyota fan but I now see it’s time for me to change brands because of how dealerships address concerns and how they mishandle vehicles. I’m going to speak to an attorney.

Katy Sanchez was amazing! I had had a very negative experience at Northridge Toyota several years ago with an employee named Sarkis who had unauthorized work done on my car without my permission. I was seated in the lobby, grading papers(I was a high school mathematics teacher) and also had my cell phone which Sarkis didn’t call. When he came over to get me and presented me with a bill for over $1000 when the estimate had been $200( it was a maintenance call), I was livid! I reiterated that I hadn’t approved it and shouldn’t have to pay for it. He refused to return my fob until I paid up. I asked for the work to be undone but it would have cost even more with the additional labor charges.
Katy made me feel comfortable at Northridge Toyota again. I’ve been coming here since I bought my first Camry in 1989. I’m currently on my 3rd Camry and I also have a 1994 4-Runner (a hand me down from my dad). We are a Toyota family with my parents buying their first Lexus in 1985.
Katy took the time to explain what additional services that were recommended besides my oil change and inspection. She had pictures on her phone to show me the severity of the proposed work. She had also prioritized the suggested work to what was crucial to my safety and what was general maintenance.
I had been avoiding Northridge Toyota although it’s very close to my home, due to my unpleasant experience with Sarkis. I felt that he took advantage of the situation because I’m a woman. I had reported Sarkis’ behavior to the assistant manager at the time. I should have received a written apology with credit given for at least 1/2 of the unauthorized work. My next experience at Northridge Toyota, I saw that Sarkis was still working there and I felt disrespected as a customer and as a woman. Today was a very positive experience-a 180• difference. I also mentioned Katy’s outstanding service and manner to her manager who agreed that Katy was an outstanding employee. I will certainly recommend Katy Sanchez and Northridge Toyota to all my Toyota-driving friends and family.
