Dear Ownership and Management of Paradise Chevrolet,
I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction and outrage with the recent service experience I received at your dealership involving my 2021 Traverse and Century Service Plus contract (#VSNA000013010).
The key issues are as follows:
1. Attempted Breach of Contract and Imposition of Unauthorized Fees
Upon seeking service, your staff attempted to impose an unwritten $55/hour labor surcharge not disclosed in my signed contract. Most concerning, James Perkey instructed me to “take it up with Century” myself. This effort to shift responsibility for a dealership-provider pricing dispute onto the customer is unacceptable and constitutes a clear dereliction of your obligations as a Chevrolet representative. My contract clearly states my only responsibility is a $100 deductible—nothing more.
2. Coercion Required to Enforce Contract Terms
It was only after I physically drove to your facility and threatened to tow my vehicle to Simpson Chevrolet (which immediately confirmed they would honor the contract terms) that Mike Armstrong agreed to comply with the agreement. No customer should be forced into confrontation simply to receive the coverage they purchased in good faith.
3. Suspicious Timing of Additional Repair Recommendations
After the labor-rate dispute was resolved in my favor, your team “discovered” leaking control arm bushings and recommended a $486 brake job. These issues should have been identified during the initial Multi-Point Inspection (MPI). Their emergence only after the dealership lost margin on labor raises serious concerns about the thoroughness of the original inspection and suggests possible staged or retaliatory discovery to offset the earlier concession.
These events have completely eroded my trust in Paradise Chevrolet’s transparency and customer service standards. As a dealership that promotes itself as a “Cornerstone of Temecula,” this pattern of pushing customers toward warranty providers, inventing undisclosed internal fees, and questionable diagnostic practices falls far short of that standard.
I have already initiated a formal complaint with the California Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) to document these practices. I am also notifying Chevrolet Corporate of this experience.
I expect a prompt written response addressing these concerns, including:
• An explanation of why an undisclosed labor surcharge was attempted
• Confirmation of your policy on honoring extended service contracts without requiring customers to negotiate directly with third-party providers
• Assurance that initial Multi-Point Inspections are performed thoroughly and consistently

Aubrey was absolutely amazing! She literally went out of her way for me as a walk in with no appointment she managed to get my truck in immediately for a transmission flush and oil change with tire rotation! She was extremely friendly and professional and clearly a very hard worker! I was so impressed with her kindness and ability to multi task as it was very busy today. She never looked overwhelmed and smiled the entire time my wife and I interacted with her. Amazing how she managed to move quickly yet not look like she was overly worked and also managed to get my vehicle completely serviced within a couple of hours!
My wife and I had to get her card to know to always ask for Aubrey!
