I scheduled my car for an oil change. When I took it in, I noticed that the maintenance code was B17. I looked that up in the car’s manual and it turns out that 7 was code to replace brake fluid. Darrel completely ignored the code and looked up my car’s maintenance history and insisted that I change the transmission fluid. He said it’s recommended every 30K miles. After the service, I consulted the owner’s manual and did not see such recommendation. Contrary to Darrel’s advice, the manual seems to recommend following Maintenance Minder codes. I’m greatly disappointed that Darrel, a Honda service advisor, seems to be so badly misinformed.
