We brought our car in to be serviced and when we got it back the check engine light, which wasn’t on when we brought it in, was on. I don’t know why the service technician didn’t notice it and tell us about it when we picked up the car. I was told that the problem was not related to the work that was done, which means it must’ve been some kind of strange coincidence. That always makes me a little suspicious. I’m going to have it looked at by my regular mechanic

This particular experience was the culmination of 50,000 miles of frustration with my Halogen Headlights burning out approximately every 4-6 months. I also had a rapid rate of blinking on my dashboard turn signal indicators and had a parking light out on the front end along with one headlight. Spoke with the service manager and was directed by her to Contact Ford Motor directly. FMC, the service department and I all came to agreement on what needed to be done and the work was started. Once all the parts were received and installed, The service department notified me to inform that they needed to reprogram the keys to the new BCM. only problem was that I had one set with me in California while i was working. not to return for approx 2 weeks. I did return this past Saturday and turned my 2nd set of keys in for programming. explaining to the available service advisor that I would be back in a couple of hours to collect my vehicle which I was led to believe was able to happen on a previously received text message between me and my service advisor. i was promptly notified that I would not be getting my vehicle back since there were not any Technicians working on Saturday. That's when I started to lose control of my temper. I foolishly demanded a rental or my vehicle to be fixed. which they could accommodate neither. I then had a very unprofessional conversation with the general manager. To be clear, mostly unprofessional on my part. Long story short, Monday would be the soonest my vehicle would be ready for me to take home. Monday comes and I called the service advisor handling my repair(s) and was informed that for some reason, the reprograming was taking longer than usual. 4 hours later, I finally get the call that the truck is ready to go. I go get the truck and it is pulled around front for me. I hopped in and instantly noticed interior panels still laying on the floor. They immediately brough the truck back in to be fully reassembled. After about 5 minutes, they finally brought it back out to the front, where i climbed in and drive away. I drove home and started to inspect all the outside lights to ensure that they were indeed working. Unfortunately, one headlight (passenger lower) and one brake light (also Passenger Lower) are not working. I am absolutely less than thrilled that with the vehicle being brought in for lights being out, that better care was not taken to ensure that ALL lights, specifically the exterior lights, were working as required. the turn signal indicator is still flashing faster than it should be, which I was already informed that it would since the LED replacement turn signal bulbs that installed were causing the malfunction. according to my invoice, the tech working on my vehicle had confirmed that the LED Turn Lights in the rear of the vehicle were the cause of the rapid turn signal indicator on the dash since he claims to have installed (temporarily) some halogen turn signal bulbs in the rear, at which point the turn signals indicators flashed at the normal rate. Since the headlights still have a bad bulb and the Brake lights are also down one bulb, I have purchase new turn halogen turn signal bulbs for all positions, 4 new headlight bulbs and 4 new taillight / brake light bulbs with the intention of installing them in two weeks when I get home again. then we will see just how long this repair last.
