Anthony greeted me with a friendly smile and he has excellent in customer service.
We brought our 2013 Mazda 3 in for a routine service, and to get an acceleration issue checked out. The car has 90,000 miles on it. Max promptly told me that the car was a hunk of garbage that wasn’t worth the cost of repairs, and we should just buy a new car since ours was unreliable. He told me he’d “let me in on a little secret” about the incentives offered to buyers right now because of COVID. This was before he even looked at our car. If our car is so “unreliable” after 7 years and less than 100,000 miles then I don’t understand why he thinks we would EVER buy another Mazda. I dropped the car off at 1:40 and he told me he would call that afternoon with an update. He never did. Around 5:00 I started calling to inquire about the car. We are a 2 car household, and my husband took my car to work, so I had no car for that time. I had to call 8 times before I reached an actual person, who informed me that all of the service department leaves at 5. Max did not call us to let us know the car was going to be kept overnight. The next day we are updated that the service will be completed in the late afternoon. Max speaks with my husband, who tells him we can’t pick up until 5:30, as my husband is at work... using my car. Max says he’ll leave the keys with the sales team and they’ll be able to give us our car. We make the 20 minute drive to the dealership at 5:30 to pick up the car, only for the sales team to tell us they weren’t left any keys and they couldn’t give us the car. This was Friday night, of course service is currently closed on the weekend so our car will be unavailable Thursday - Monday. When we called on Monday there was no apology or acknowledgement from Max and he even went so far as to blame us not getting the car on Friday on ME. He claimed that he called me to let me know that the car was done and that I told him I would come pick the car up before 5. Except I did NOT tell him I would pick up the car before 5. My husband doesn’t get off until 5, and he had my car! How can I pick up the car when I don’t have my car to get me to the dealership? Max was completely tone deaf, had zero customer service skills and was so careless with our time that we were left without my husbands car for over 4 days, and we NOT ONCE received a call from Max updating us that the car would be kept over night. The service at this Mazda dealership was absolutely horrendous and Max personifies every stereotype of what is wrong with car salesmen. I hope he gets some better customer service training and can learn skills to better perform his job in the future. As for us, we will not be returning to this dealership and we won’t buy a Mazda again.
Anthony did an excellent job of keeping me informed and keeping me advised of any and all costs. I appreciate that he was concerned about me and what I would pay for the repairs.
