I’m really hesitant to write this review, but I wanted to share my experience at the South Bay Toyota service department.
I brought my 2024 Toyota Sequoia in for regular maintenance and arrived around 9:00 AM. Chris assisted me and explained the maintenance my car would need that day. Since I have a service agreement plan that we paid $5,495 for, I expected most or all of the maintenance would be covered.
Chris originally mentioned that it was a slower day and that the service would take about two hours. I left my car around 9:20 AM and returned at 11:30 AM to pick it up, but it was still not finished. Chris came out twice to apologize and explained that replacing the spark plug part was taking longer than expected. The work was finally completed around 2:30 PM.
What disappointed me most was receiving a bill for $791 without having been clearly informed beforehand that the maintenance would cost that much. I understand unexpected issues can happen, but I wish I had been given a clearer explanation about what services were being performed, what was covered under my service contract, and the estimated cost before the work was done.
The long wait was frustrating, but the lack of communication and cost transparency was the bigger issue for me.
I’m always satisfied with my car service at South Bay.
