I have been coming to **** Smith of Lexington for a couple years now to get my car serviced. I have always been very pleased by the nice staff and communication. Yesterday I feel there was some miscommunication errors between me and my service person. 1.) I don’t understand what the battery service charge is that was on my account. I only wanted to get a new battery because I was told mine was critically low and if I shut my car off it might not crank back up. 2.) I asked to get my old battery back prior to purchasing the new one because I thought it was one my husband recently purchased and I wanted to return it. It was never discussed with me there was a $40 fee (which i understand why you charge) and when I got in my car the battery wasn’t even in there. I understand people make mistakes and I forget things from time to time but I feel that should have been disclosed with me at some point. I only discovered that fee when I went back inside to ask for my battery after noticing it wasn’t in my car. I also wish my report would have been discussed more with me as I do not know what maintenance things need to be done to my car. I apologize for complaining but I feel the experience I had yesterday was not the same standard of service I have received in the past.

I simply asked for a break on the $300 diagnostic charge due to the fact I was never informed of the cost prior to, and I had good reason to believe the issue was related to a previous AC issue the dealership resolved 6 months ago. I understand the issue was different this time, but should have been informed before a $300 diagnostic. Then they recommended a $2500 fix, which is really high. I anticipated maybe $100 diagnostic when I decided to take the vehicle elsewhere but no where near 300..
He provided answers to my questions in a professional and courteous manner.

However, I was disappointed that I had an appointment at 7:00 am Monday and my car didn’t get pulled back to be looked at until late afternoon Monday - causing them to keep it another day. I had to find transportation to work on Tuesday. It was not an ideal situation.
The transmission issue that I was concerned about could not be identified so there has been no resolution to the problem.
Kept me informed of everything being done what additional services were needed.

I was there because I needed a second key because they didn’t have one when I bought the car. When I got home I had the key fob in the car and low key battery came on. It would have been nice to not have to run out and get a battery for a brand new fob.
